Items We Cannot Accept

It's hard to say "no thank you" to a donation when those donations help to fund Interfaith programs. However, we do need to refuse some items for being non-recyclable or containing hazardous materials. Other times, the item must be refused because it costs more to repair or refurbish than it can be sold for in our store. Our team members are trained to know what we can and cannot accept, and will help guide you to other possibilities for donations we cannot use.

We cannot accept the following items:

  • ANY  TVs

  • ANY Computer Monitors or Computers, or PRINTERS

  • Anything torn, soiled or in need of repair

  • Cribs, car seats, walkers or other baby products (please note that accepting these items is restricted by law)

  • No household chemical products such as pesticides, paint, paint thinner, drain cleaner, oven cleaner, aerosols and other environmentally-unfriendly waste products.

  • No automotive hazardous waste such as tires, lead acid batteries, additives, gasoline, oils, antifreeze, etc.

  • No large appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, stoves/ovens, washers/dryers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, furnaces, trash compactors, water heaters, large console stereos, freon-based appliances, etc.

  • No mattresses/box springs, including waterbed mattresses and waterbed frames

  • No sofas, comforters or exercise equipment such as weight sets, stationary bikes, treadmills etc.

  • No plumbing fixtures or building materials

  • No traditional recyclables such as glass, newsprint, office paper, cardboard, plastics, magazines, junk mail, etc.

  • No weapons such as guns, bows and arrows, ammunition, hunting knives, etc

Donation Don'ts

  • DO NOT leave items unattended outside- THERE ARE HOUSES ALL AROUND.

  • DO NOT donate broken or soiled items.

  • DO NOT give items that have been recalled, banned, or do not meet current safety standards. For more information, visit the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

"I've been shopping here for years. At least 90% of my attire comes from Interfaith! I keep getting compliments on my attire and questions everywhere I proud to be a shopper of Interfaith and tell those who ask where I got it. I LOVE this place! Great selection!"
